At The Fox we only offer Excellent food! and all lovingly worked and created by our very own Proprieter and Chef John Davison (previously of The Savoy London), who has over 35 years experience in the business.
Alongside with his wife Hannah, the welcome at The Fox is second to none, and we know you wont be disappointed.
We offer local traditional ales and a great selection of fine wines by the glass or bottle.
We have an extensive  A La Carte Menu with locally sourced free range meat from Castlemoor Farm and the very famous Wenlock Edge Farm both based in the heart of Shropshire.
All our fruit and vegetables are once again brought to us by local growers.

In the bar at lunchtimes we offer light lunches and daily specials alongside delicious homemade desserts.
The evenings are candlelit with a very Extensive A La Carte Menu offering superb Fresh Fish and excellent local Meats all accompanied by only the freshest of Vegetables.

Our bedrooms have been re-furbished by Hannah who worked in photographic styling for glossy magazines previously. Each is very individual and offers a totally unique feel to your normal high st hotel.
Lots of comfort and lots of cushions!

The Fox dates back to the 1600s and is now Grade ll listed. It has always been a predominant Coaching Inn, within the historic town of Much Wenlock, where the local hunt would meet and take a stirrup cup before heading of into the Shropshire Hills.
Nowadays we just offer fabulous accomodation and superb food with a very warm welcome, and reasonable prices
We can be found at the top of the High Street and are known for our double sided steps up to he entrance of our the building.
Set in the heart of Shropshire The Fox is an ideal venue for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. For walkers Wenlock Edge is a long wooded escarpment stretching from the Wrekin to Craven Arms.  Fantastic for fossil hunting as this limestone ridge is the remains of a coral reef, going back 430 million years.
With the Ironbridge Gorge only 4 miles away, which hosts the worlds first Ironbridge, there are also endless Museums "Blists Hill Victorian"  and "Coalport China" to name a few.
The medieval town of Shrewsbury is just 12 miles and host to the famous Flower Show in August and has an abundance of Medieval Buildings of special interest to see.
